She’s Ready To Go
I am really excited! In a couple of days, we will be taking LadyBug2 out for her first go on the lake in at least 7 years. You may be asking...why has it been so long? When we purchased the boat, it didn’t run. We knew it didn’t run, but it was too nice to pass up. When my husband saw the motors were outboard motors(motors that you can see and work on without getting in the water) he knew it wouldn't be too hard for someone to work on them. We also figure if that didn’t work, then we would invest in new motors. Praise God we did not have to do that and was able to get both motors up and running. We still have to get the generator serviced so that we will have power once we pull away from the dock. Until then we will use a portable generator, which will keep the fridge going and the air on.
Ok..back to the excitement!!! Eek!! We are going to leave the dock early morning. Best to do our trial run when the lake is not busy. Because my husband has not driven a boat of this size before, we will have one of our friends on board that has a houseboat and can teach my husband how to drive the boat and any other things that he may need to know.
Both our boys will be there and some of our boat family. I intend on cooking breakfast and having mimosas to commemorate the moment. This is a big moment for us, we knew we were going to get it moving, just didn’t know when. its finally here!!
We don’t intend on moving the boat all the time, gas prices are ridiculous. It would take about $600.00 to fill the boat. We will still use our pontoon boat to get around the lake. It’s good to know that if we want to move it, we can. Wish us luck!!
